Simon Rogers (Australia)

lead instructor for High Angle Rope Rescue

Simon Rogers is an instructor in the Fire Rescue Development Program, NGO (FRDP) and the founder and chief instructor of the Rescue & Safety Institute (RSI) in Japan.
With FRDP he assists in organizing infrastructure, administration, and training programs in developing and war torn countries. He also works within the United Nations and other diplomatic bodies to bring the needs of firefighters to the international community.
With RSI he is currently a Special Incident Adviser and Instructor for Tokyo Fire Department and Japan’s Fire & Disaster Management Agency.
He specializes in High Angle Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Urban Search & Rescue and River/Flood Rescue.

Francesco Rossetti (RSA)

lead instructor for Vehicle Extrication

Francesco Rossetti served with the Johannesburg fire department in South Africa and is a twenty year veteran in the fire service. Currently he serves with the fire rescue development program (FRDP) as assistant fire chief of operations and the primary delegate to the United Nations eco-soc council in Vienna Austria.
Mr Rossetti assisted with the post war assessment of the Iraqi fire service and assisted with the reorganization of the fire service in the republic of Montenegro. Mr Rossetti is an expert in the vehicle extrication field and has attended competitions and seminars around the world. He also competed in several international competitions and won several coveted awards.

Gianmario Gnecchi (Italy)

lead instructor for Basement Fire-fighting

Mr. Gianmario Gnecchi is Asst. Fire Chief of Bergamo County Fire Department, Italian National Fire and Rescue Service. He holds a diploma in Industrial Chemistry and is a professional member of the Italian National Fire and Rescue Service since 1985.
At present, among his duties as fire prevention officer and shift officer is in charge as Didactical Director of the newly opened Fire and Rescue School of Northern Italy situated in Dalmine City (Bergamo Province). Besides operational fire and rescue activities, Mr. Gnecchi has developed a specific experience in the design of training programmes at different levels and as a trainer himself.
Mr. Gnecchi is member of several national working groups and is a recognized and certified national teacher/instructor in subjects like U.S.A.R., CBRN emergencies, Incident Management, Fire Ventilation.
He cooperates in governmental committees for the development of regional and local emergency planning and standard operating procedures.
During his career he has participated to numerous emergency missions and exercises in Italy and abroad.

Frank Bateman (USA, National Foam)

lead instructor for Flange Fires & Free Oil Fires

Frank Bateman has over 30 years experience in the field of fire fighting and fire protection. Frank is currently responsible for Industrial, Marine, Municipal Training and Consulting Division at National Foam - Kidde Fire Fighting and has held positions at Boots & Coots, Williams Fire & Hazard Control and 3M. Frank was a US Coast Guard Reserve Commissioned Officer (Commander) assigned to the Marine Safety Office (MSO) San Francisco as Planning / Marine Fire fighting Division Officer with responsibilities that included planning and marine fire fighting response.
Frank is a member and co-author of multiple committees, standards and guides including: NFPA Committee for Standard # 11 – Low-Medium-High Expansion Foam, NFPA Committee for Standard # 1405 – Land-Based Fire-fighters Who Respond to Marine Vessel Fires, NFPA Committee for Standard # 1925 – Marine Fire fighting Vessels American Petroleum Institute (API) Task Force for Publication # 2021 – Guide for Fighting Fires In and Around Petroleum Storage Tanks, International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Foam Committee – Principles pf Foam Fire Fighting International Fire Service Training Association (IFSTA) Marine Committee – Marine Fire fighting, Society of Fire Protection Engineers. Frank is also an Adjunct Instructor at the New Jersey State Fire College, Texas A & M Oil Fire Training School and UNR Fire Training Academy.

Dwight Williams & Eric La Vergne

Dwight Williams, founder of Williams Fire & Hazard Control has traveled the world in response to over 170 industrial fire related emergencies on land and at sea. He has been responsible for the development of proprietary tactics and equipment that have shaped the industry and instilled safety and efficiency into modern day industrial fire and hazard response.
The foremost authority on flammable liquid fires Dwight has routinely overcome the most treacherous of scenarios — including the largest fully involved flammable liquid storage tank fire on record at over 270 feet — when his detractors lacked faith in extinguishment.

Eric LaVergne has cut his teeth on industrial emergency response from the equipment side of the business. Under the tutelage of Les Williams and Dwight Williams, Eric has witnessed first hand the impact of such groundbreaking technologies as Hydro-Foam™ and Hydro-Chem ™, and self-aspirating nozzles on the evolution of industrial fire response.
Eric was directly involved in the development of equipment and methodologies used the world over in the extinguishment of large flammable liquid fires, and continues to apply over 20 years of field experience to his knowledge on the importance of performance equipment and effective firefighting tactics.

Chris Ruberry (UK)

lead instructor for Marine Fire Rescue

Chris Ruberry has been a Local Authority Fire Brigade Fire Officer for 30 years and is currently the Training Manager for Cornwall County Fire Brigade.
He gained his professional experiences across a broad range of emergency services activity and is qualified in Fire Safety, Fire Investigation and Analytical Incident Investigation. He is also a Critical Incident Defuser.
Chris has been involved in maritime firefighting for 30 years, both in dockyards and ports and offshore, responding as the Incident Commander to many fires aboard vessels from VLCC’s to Freighters and specialist vessels such as LPG bulk carriers. He is currently the Ports Liaison Officer for the Fire Authority and works regularly with The MCA/Coastguard, Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Military services on marine incident response. He is a qualified and experienced Powerboat Instructor teaching boat handling, safety and rescue techniques to the public and authorities such as Emergency Planning, Devon & Cornwall Police and London Fire Brigade. He is a qualified Sea Survival Instructor and works for the RNLI giving Sea Safety Advice and is a pyrotechnics demonstrator trained by Pains Wessex. Chris is also a specialist in Moving Water Rescue qualified and experienced to Technician and Supervisor level.
Chris is a consultant instructor in marine firefighting for the Centro Addestramento Soccorso Sopravvienza in Anzio, Italy, and Consultant Trainer for Rig Systems in the UK. He is a mentor in leadership training for Maitena Leadership Training, UK. He is a member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and the Institute of Leadership and management.
