Hands-On-Traning (HOT) sessions provided by FDIC Bahrain are unique in their delivery of training, by offering real live situations and expert trainers to guide you through.
H.O.T. modules offer the most realistic and beneficial form of training in real live situations.
H.O.T. modules are run by some of the best, most experienced trainers in the world and designed to appeal to fire fighters engaged in municipal and structural fire fighting, as well as those from the petroleum, industrial, marine and aviation sectors.

Each H.O.T. module lasts for one full day and the H.O.T.s programme is carried out on 9th and 10th December 2007. Each student can apply to take part in a maximum of two H.O.T. modules, one on each day.
Register early as class sizes are limited!

All trainees completing H.O.T. modules will be issued a certificate as proof of their training.

8. High Rise Buildings

An introduction into the basic knowledge of High Rise Fire-fighting. The program will cover resources, communication concerns, tactical procedures, safety, manpower and the equipment needed to facilitate high rise operations.

9. Flashover / Hot Fire Door / Backdraft training
lead instructor and team from the Advanced Fire Training Centre at Saudi Aramco, Saudi Arabia
Training the correct approach on entering a compartment under danger of backdraft. Experience the occurrence of flashover, how best to protect yourself and your fellow fire fighters and how to reduce the risks.

This module will address the techniques to be used when dealing with incidents that require a rescue of victims from locations unreachable by standard fire department equipment, utilizing rope and rope accessories. These techniques can be applied in the wilderness or urban environment.
Students will be given the opportunity to practice the essential rope skills needed to conduct a rescue. Individual skills and team work are essential to ensure a safe and successful rescue.
Work stations will include equipment, anchor points, lowering systems and raising systems.
Ideal for: Emergency services commanders, Brigade fire officers, Fire-fighters, Emergency medical personnel and is suited to fire rescue personnel, and personnel working in industry and construction where access to high and difficult areas is required.

The aim of this training is to provide the learner with the fundamental knowledge, skills and insight needed to conduct a vehicle rescue where the occupants of the vehicle are trapped and a full complement of rescue tools are available. This training forms part of the everyday reality faced by emergency workers across the world. The following components form part of the training that will be presented at the event.
Ideal for: Emergency services commanders, Brigade fire officers, Fire-fighters, Emergency medical personnel, any fire service member that engages in rescue operations on a daily level.
Level: Basic to Intermediate

This module will involve dealing with fires in ships engine rooms, machinery spaces, cargo holds and accommodation. It will provide students with a number of skills including techniques in sizing up, hatch and door entry, boundary starving and cooling, fire extinguishment and rescue of trapped crew.
The theory of: Ship firefighting and rescue techniques including fixed installations, Basic risks to vessel stability and Firefighter safety will be covered as well as practical training in:
- Sizing up and equipment/resources needs
- Boundary starving and boundary cooling
- Ships Compartment Fire - door and hatch entry
- Moving through fire compartments
- Ships Compartment fire fighting techniques
- Rescue of trapped crew
Ideal for: Experienced Emergency Services Commanders, Brigade Fire Officers and Fire-fighters.
Level: Intermediate to Advanced
How you will benefit: The session will benefit Incident Commanders and Firefighters through understanding of the difficulties of dealing with various types of fires encountered on ships, and by learning skills and techniques in how to contain, stabilize and extinguish a fire and rescue trapped crew.

8. High Rise Buildings

This program will cover resources, communication concerns, tactical procedures, safety, manpower and the equipment needed to facilitate high rise operations.
From the initial response to a high rise, including setting up a command post and communication systems, stretching lines and searching the floor and floors above.
Ideal for: Emergency services commanders, Brigade fire officers, Fire-fighters, Emergency medical personnel
Level: Basic to Intermediate
How you will benefit: This program is designed to give you the knowledge needed to safely and successfully respond to a high rise accident. Understanding the need for communication as well as the tactical needs to handle the situation.
